STYLING MONOCHROME | MISSGUIDED

I have a special post for you guys in collaboration with Missguided, on styling 'monochrome'! I have three very different looks to share with you and just how easy it is to rock this popular trend this Winter. Obviously they couldn't have chosen a better blogger for the job ;) as you probably already know my great love of all things black. Missguided currently have the best statement pieces at the moment, so I hope I have captured some of these special items for you in these three looks...

FAVE KNITWEAR

Jumper - Zara | Jeans - Primark | Converse - Schuh

Ahhhhh KNITWEAR :) One of my favourite things in the world, mainly for comfort value and they are always the easiest pieces to style!

I found this absolute bargain in Zara when I went to London for my birthday. The fact that is has a hood, just made it all the more special. This item will be featured in my upcoming birthday haul video, so keep an eye out over on my YouTube channel 'glitterandgrimes'.

I have just styled it with my cheap but comfy Primark ripped jeans and some white converse. This could quite easily be a look I would live in on a day to day basis. Knitwear and converse are my best friend as soon as the months becomes cooler.

Let me know what you favourite piece of knitwear is below..

MONOCHROME MATTER

Silk Black Cloat - Topshop,
Circle glasses - eBay,
Mesh Jumper - H&M,
White Skort - Zara,
Black Boots - Topshop,
Monochrome Backpack - Primark

I really love this outfit, I know it's really matchy matchy.. but with monochrome being everywhere at the moment and with me loving the shades black and white, it was the perfect ensemble to put together. I am seriously in LOVE with this backpack. I picked it up in Primark last week and took to instagram straight away, keeping my followers in suspense, waiting for this very blog post to reveal where it's actually from. Surprised??

If you guys happen to buy it, which I'm sure you will. Instagram it and tag me in the picture, I want to see how many of my followers have equally amazing taste, and who actually read my posts :)

My whole outfit it surrounding the style of the bag, keeping it really edgy, monochrome obviously and clean lines. I love all these high street brands at the moment and my large circle mirrored glasses are finally out the draw and will be a top favourite over the next month. You can get these anywhere and there are so many variations on eBay.

Hope you like.

White on White

Brown Sunglasses - Primark,
White Jumper - Topshop Boutique,
White Shirt Dress - Topshop Boutique,
Monochrome Heels - Missguided,
Rose Gold Watch - Michael Kors

Welcome to a new fresh look to Velvet Writer.. more clean styling and fresher outfit posts. I am hiding away my bright clothes and edgy ways, for more modern, cutting edge, monochrome trends this month. You will be seeing a fimilar style in most of the posts that follow. I see this as the evolution of my blog and how I see my style and taste changing from when I first started.

I have white on white, both Topshop Boutique pieces. I regret not showing off how amazing this shirt dress underneath and how much structural detail it offers, but I wanted to wear an oversized jumper and accentuate how the dress is slightly londer and curved at the back.

I think this jumper looks so rich, Topshop in Liverpool no longer sell this jumper anymore, only in black.. but you can still catch this beauty online and on eBay. Mine is quite a big size, as I purposely wanted it over sized, I think it's a size 14.

Hope you liked it guys!

ROSES ARE.... BLUE!

Grey Studded Beanie - Primark,
Roses Sweatshirt - H&M,
Blue Backpack - Topshop,
Black Shiny Joggers - Primark,

Monochrome Heels - Missguided One of my favourite outfit posts in a long time. I have been waiting a few weeks to really show off this sweatshirt. Another H&M treasure, at an amazingly affordable price. Sometimes you can go into H&M and find absolutely nothing, but then one day you will just be amazed at the garments before your eyes and want to buy half the shop.

This sweatshirt included.. I loved the pattern and also the sentimental value. '8' happens to have great meaning, most birthdays in my family, including myself were born on an 8th. Also it's become my lucky number in life and lots of unusual things happen surrounding this number.  So the top seemed an suitable choice that day.

Am I superstitious? Massively.

I have teamed it up with my favourite bargain of 2013.. my shiny joggers from Primark and then my favourite heels of 2013, by Missguided.
