TRIP HOME | WALES

Jack and I went back to my home in North Wales for a few days while the weather was so nice. We live in the heart of the city, in an apartment with no garden to enjoy, so going to Wales seemed the only place to make the most of the nice weather and get away from the hectic city life.

Going home gives me that freedom to enjoy the things I would normally take for granted, I get to play around with my dog, drive my car, have BBQ's and sit on a lawn, which is pretty rare in the city. I decided to go all out and show Jack some of the places I used to visit as a child, therefore I also planned a few outfits so that I could fit in some blogging whilst I was there... the scenery is much nicer!

MONOCHROME MATTER

Silk Black Cloat - Topshop,
Circle glasses - eBay,
Mesh Jumper - H&M,
White Skort - Zara,
Black Boots - Topshop,
Monochrome Backpack - Primark

I really love this outfit, I know it's really matchy matchy.. but with monochrome being everywhere at the moment and with me loving the shades black and white, it was the perfect ensemble to put together. I am seriously in LOVE with this backpack. I picked it up in Primark last week and took to instagram straight away, keeping my followers in suspense, waiting for this very blog post to reveal where it's actually from. Surprised??

If you guys happen to buy it, which I'm sure you will. Instagram it and tag me in the picture, I want to see how many of my followers have equally amazing taste, and who actually read my posts :)

My whole outfit it surrounding the style of the bag, keeping it really edgy, monochrome obviously and clean lines. I love all these high street brands at the moment and my large circle mirrored glasses are finally out the draw and will be a top favourite over the next month. You can get these anywhere and there are so many variations on eBay.

Hope you like.

FINDING MY BALANCE

Long Grey Cardigan - H&M,
Burgandy Top - Primark,
Leather High Waisted Trousers - H&M,

Hi guys, completely shocked and overwhelmed at the response about my blog this week. It's really exciting getting that exposure through instagram and people really appreciating your own person style and creativity.

Please head over to my instagram using Velvet Writer and give me a follow if you prefer more visual updates of my posts, rather than have me ramble on here.

I really enjoyed shooting this outfit post, I had a really successful shopping trip at H&M the other day when my mum came up to visit me in Liverpool. As most mother and daughter get-togethers, the plan was to head straight to the shops till we become overly stressed and then need the excuse to relax and natter over a 'large' glass of wine at lunch.

Finally I managed to pick up some leather high waisted trousers for about £24.99. H&M really do have an amazing range of leather pants to suit all shapes and sizes, so if you are still looking for that hint of leather in your wardrobe.. then this high street store is my recommendation.

I also picked up this gorgeous long grey cardigan in the sale for just £7. I'm a sucker for all types of cloaks and cover ups, as I'm quite a lazy fashionista in the day time and during work. I liked the idea of grey, as I already have a nice silk black one from Topshop. My mum bought these gorgeous 'me and you' beanies, also from H&M for me at Christmas time, I hadn't planned on doing the cliche photo with my boyfriend but as he's my photographer, he couldn't help himself wanting to get in on the action.

Whether I wear these hats most days.. I don't know, but Jack loves the 'You' one :)

Now I'm going to harp on about just how amazing my new trainers are!!!!!! I was originally supposed to have these raring to go on Christmas day but unfortunately the size 5 didn't fit. (I'm a size 5 by the way). I was really disappointed, as I hadn't tried any on before and just fell in love with this style and colour after seeing so many people walking round the city delighfully in them... and understandably I needed my own pair.

I waited till January to finally get round to changing them for a size 6 as they are really neat fitting, and even the 6 is calling it close but god were they worth the wait. New Balance 574's are the most comfortable trainer I have every owed. The moment they are on my feet, I can't help but bounce around full of life. There is also nothing better than going to work, knowing you are going to be on your feet for the next 9 hours and not going to hear a peep out of your heels or toes.

I chose black, white and grey, purely because I only had to see them on someone once, and I immediately needed them in my possession, but now it has become such a practical idea, as they go with everything. Win win!

Tartan in The Hundreds

Black Snapback - The Hundreds,
Crystal Necklace - Kukee Jewellery,
Black Crop Top - Primark,
Burgandy Skort - Topshop,
Black Boots - Topshop,
Tartan Cloak - eBay
Ring - Kukee Jewellery

Still love my black snapback from last year, which is still available online. Every now and then, I will choose a snapback over a beanie for the day, and I instantly indulge in my great decision. I saw a fellow blogger in long length tartan cardigan and wanted to find my own version, as I thought it would be a great piece over the Christmas period. I have worn it to death and only now have I got round to posting it on my blog.

Here I have matched it up with my amazing Primark crop top, which I caught in the sale for just £3. My go-to skort this Winter in this ox blood colour, some warm tights to fight the cold and black boots. The snapback is for a bad hair day, or if you just feel like adding that bit of edge to an outfit.

That's what I love so much about hats, beanies and snapbacks mainly... they have the ability to make most outfits look edgy and cool. I think they are the perfect accessory and my collection needs its own room soon.

Last but not least I have one my beautifully delicate jewellery by Kukee. I spotted their ring collection on instagram and when I visited their site online, I was absolutely spoilt for choice. In the end I ended up settling for 2 pieces.. a crystal necklace and moon stone ring, both in Silver. I received these as gifts for Christmas and they both haven't left my side. Click the links of the descriptions for my information.
