Tartan in The Hundreds

Black Snapback - The Hundreds,
Crystal Necklace - Kukee Jewellery,
Black Crop Top - Primark,
Burgandy Skort - Topshop,
Black Boots - Topshop,
Tartan Cloak - eBay
Ring - Kukee Jewellery

Still love my black snapback from last year, which is still available online. Every now and then, I will choose a snapback over a beanie for the day, and I instantly indulge in my great decision. I saw a fellow blogger in long length tartan cardigan and wanted to find my own version, as I thought it would be a great piece over the Christmas period. I have worn it to death and only now have I got round to posting it on my blog.

Here I have matched it up with my amazing Primark crop top, which I caught in the sale for just £3. My go-to skort this Winter in this ox blood colour, some warm tights to fight the cold and black boots. The snapback is for a bad hair day, or if you just feel like adding that bit of edge to an outfit.

That's what I love so much about hats, beanies and snapbacks mainly... they have the ability to make most outfits look edgy and cool. I think they are the perfect accessory and my collection needs its own room soon.

Last but not least I have one my beautifully delicate jewellery by Kukee. I spotted their ring collection on instagram and when I visited their site online, I was absolutely spoilt for choice. In the end I ended up settling for 2 pieces.. a crystal necklace and moon stone ring, both in Silver. I received these as gifts for Christmas and they both haven't left my side. Dusky Pink & Tartan.. And all the Wonderful things...

Tartan Dress - Zara,
Pink Coat - Topshop,
Black Boots - Topshop,
Black Bag - Topshop,
Gold Necklace - Topshop,
Black Frilly Socks - Internacionale

Finally I have blogged my favourite coat of Winter 2013. This naughty purchase before going home for Christmas, was the best decision I made that year. This coat was originally £120 or so and in the sale it had gone down to just £60. I completely forgot about my staff discount on sale items and went to the till after work on Christmas Eve with the intention of paying £60 for this amazing item.

As soon as my manager spoke the words... £45 please, I nearly had a heart attack. This was an absolute steal. The coat is just the most beautiful dusky pink, the material is amazing with the giant black button details and it's so warm too. I felt great leaving work with my new coat, ready to enjoy an amazing 3 days off work.
This new item has adopted a special wooden hanger in the wardrobe of me. It comes out at least 5 times a week and is by far the best coat I've ever owned, and the fact I got it for just £45, made it all the more satisfying.

I have put on my old faithfuls from last year, some amazing croc black boots from Topshop and a tartan/lace dress from the Zara sales. I love the blue colours of the tartan against the dusty pink over coat. Since I'm picking all my faves, this black bag from Topshop has also been my go-to handbag from 2013 and I can't see myself putting it down this year either.

Hope you liked my post guys!

TARTAN & MESH

Tartan Skort - Topshop,
Mesh Jumper - H&M,
Holographic Purse - Primark,
Denim Jacket - Bite Me Clothing

Hope you all had an amazing Christmas! I had one of the best.. I spent it with everyone I love, and enjoyed a nice three days off work.

But, I'm back in the blogging game, ready for an amazing new year and to watch my blog grow through 2014. Only now have I really begun putting in the effort it deserves, with regular posts and a genre and style that I now want to continue with.

I really hope to gain more followers and blogger friends in the new year ahead, so here is still a nice Christmassy outfit post for you all, as I am still going hard on the tartan trend, as I feel it is still going to be around over the next few months and I'm not really to give up these amazing pieces in my wardrobe.

TARTAN HOMIES

Homies Beanie - Vintage (Leeds),
White Shirt - Select,
Tartan Trousers - Primark,
Gold Buckled Boots - eBay,
Bag - Vintage

Hello, I'm back with another outfit post for you this evening. I'm still excepting more tartan into my wardrobe this Autumn/Winter and still open minded to a few more garments if they take my fancy. Currently I have fallen for a fellow fashion blogger's blog, where they is a fabulous tartan piece, but then Velvet Writer will need a new name if I carry on. Let's talk about my pants.. these tartan wonders had people talking, they were out in the roses red colours and also navy. I wanted to go all out TARTAN and went for the more traditional colour, well I think this is the more traditional colour tartan.

Anyways, you can't fault them for looking expensive and great quality. The fabric is great and the pocket detail, with their leather look lining is a great touch for national bargain high street chain Primark. I wanted a cute pair of tartan pants because I had seen so many black and white pairs walking around the streets of Liverpool. I wanted to wear them with my cute small black fluffy jumper here.. www.velvetwriter.com/2013/09/primarks-fluffy-power.html

I had planned to go for a nice dinner date with my boyfriend and wanted a nice outfit to match the mood I was in. So that is exactly what I wore, along with some leather boots from Topshop. This time I have gone for a more crisp look. Putting on a white skirt, nice buckled boots and a vintage beanie to make it more of a day time look.
